Nominator's project description
| Professor Hadziioannou is a professor of polymer chemistry at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and a world-known expert in the field of polymer chemistry and polymer physics. His scientific achievements reach from the controlled synthesis of new, functional polymer materials to the in-depth study of their physical properties. In recent years, he made outstanding contributions to the development of "smart plastics", i.e. polymeric materials for electronic and opto-electronic devices such as plastic transistors and light emitting diodes. During his stay in Germany, he carries out a joint research project at the University of Bayreuth dealing with thin films and surfaces of block copolymers (in collaboration with Prof. Krausch). |
